- 720ml of water
- 4 tablespoons Corn syrup
- 12 teaspoons Cornstarch
- 8 teaspoons Vinegar
- 2 teaspoons Onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Paprika powder
- 12 tablespoons Chopped pickled jalapeno chiles
- 8 tablespoons Paprika paste
- Salt to taste
In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water until well combined.
In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the corn syrup, vinegar, onion powder, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and paprika powder. Stir the mixture together until the ingredients are well combined.
Add the chopped pickled jalapeno chiles and paprika paste to the saucepan and stir to combine.
Turn the heat on to medium-high and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly.
Once the mixture comes to a boil, reduce the heat to medium-low and slowly pour in the cornstarch mixture while stirring constantly. Keep stirring until the sauce thickens, which should take around 3-5 minutes.
Once the sauce has thickened, remove the saucepan from the heat and let the sauce cool to room temperature.
Once the sauce has cooled, season it with salt to taste and give it a final stir.
Transfer the sauce to a serving dish or an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator until ready to use.
