Ingredients
  

  • 2 sticks (226g) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups (250g) packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 1/2 cups (455g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 12 oz. (340g) bittersweet chocolate, chopped into chunks

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add the vanilla and mix until combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Add to the butter mixture and mix until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chunks.
  • Using a cookie scoop or spoon, portion the dough into 2-ounce balls (about 1/4 cup each). Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 3 inches apart.
  • Bake for 12-14 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
